Become the most trusted voice
in your community

The towns that residents trust most aren't just the ones that make good decisions — they're the ones that communicate those decisions clearly. Aware gives your team the tools to do that effortlessly, making you the administration that brought technology to the people and transformed how your community stays informed.

🏆

Set the gold standard

Be the town others look to. When residents are the most informed in the region, they see exactly who made that happen.

📣

Your work, finally visible

Every decision your team works hard on now reaches residents within hours — in plain language they actually understand.

🌟

Technology that serves people

Leading with innovation shows residents their local government isn't just keeping up — it's setting the pace.

The challenge every town faces

Meetings are public. Residents aren't watching.

You publish everything you're required to. But dense PDFs and multi-hour videos aren't how people stay informed in 2026.

📹

Videos go unwatched

The average council meeting runs 2–4 hours. Fewer than 1% of residents ever watch the recording.

📄

Minutes are hard to read

Official minutes are written for the record, not for residents. Legal language and long formats push people away.

📞

Staff fields repeat questions

"What was decided about the budget?" Staff answer the same questions residents could find themselves — if the information were accessible.

📉

Low engagement at meetings

Residents who feel out of the loop disengage entirely. The less informed they are, the less they show up.

Two ways to get started

Pick the path that fits your town

Whether you already stream meetings or have no video setup at all — Aware works for you.

"When was the park renovation last discussed?"
Searching 247 meetings…

✦ Aware Management Portal

Full control. Zero extra work.

The Aware Management Portal gives your team complete visibility and control over every summary before it ever reaches a resident — all from one clean dashboard.

📥

Content Queue

When enabled, every AI-generated summary lands in a private queue before going live. Your team reads it, approves it, edits it if needed — then publishes with one click. Nothing reaches residents without your sign-off.

💡 Perfect for towns that want a human review step before anything goes public. Toggle on or off at any time.
✏️

Full Summary Editing

Every summary is fully editable in a rich-text editor before or after publishing. Correct a name, add context your staff knows isn't in the recording, or refine the language to match your community's tone. Your voice, enhanced by AI.

💡 Edits are tracked so you always have a clear record of what changed and when.
🚫

Unpublish Anytime

Need to pull a summary? One click unpublishes it instantly — it disappears from resident-facing views immediately. Useful when meeting content is under legal review, or when a correction needs to be made before residents see it.

💡 Unpublished summaries remain in your portal with their full history intact.
🏷️

People & Place Definitions

Define the names of council members, staff, departments, neighborhoods, and local landmarks once — and Aware automatically recognizes and correctly attributes them in every summary going forward. No more "the councillor" when it should say "Mayor Johnson."

💡 Add as many entries as you need. Definitions apply instantly across all future summaries.

Your town has a WCAG compliance deadline.
Aware helps you go further.

Under the ADA Title II rule published by the Department of Justice, all state and local governments must bring their web content and digital services into compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The clock is running.

⚠ Towns 50,000+ residents
April 26, 2027
Your web content and digital services must meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA — including meeting recordings, transcripts, and all public documents.
📅 All other towns & special districts
April 26, 2028
Towns under 50,000 and all special district governments have until April 2028 to comply with the same WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard.

Compliance is the floor.
Aware takes you to the ceiling.

WCAG compliance requires that your meeting videos have captions, your audio recordings have transcripts, and your documents are screen-reader accessible. That's a start — and it's required.

But here's what the rule doesn't solve: making information digestible. A captioned 3-hour video is technically accessible. A resident who can't sit through 3 hours still isn't informed.

Aware goes beyond the checkbox. Our platform takes your compliant video and audio and turns the content into plain-English summaries that residents can actually read, understand, and act on — in five minutes.

Beyond the checkbox

WCAG compliance vs. true accessibility

The law requires access to information. Aware ensures residents actually receive and understand it.

✗ Compliant only

Captioned 3-hour video posted online. Technically accessible. Most residents never watch it.

✓ Compliant + Aware

Captioned video posted online — plus a plain-English summary delivered to every subscribed resident's inbox within hours.

✗ Compliant only

Full transcript published as a PDF. Available, but 40+ pages of official language most residents can't parse.

✓ Compliant + Aware

Transcript available — plus residents can ask questions about it in plain English using Ask Aware, 24/7.

Get ahead of your compliance deadline today

Aware helps you meet WCAG requirements and go well beyond them — no IT team, no heavy lift.

Common questions from town staff

How long does setup actually take?
If your meetings are already posted online, setup typically takes less than a day — often just a few hours. We handle the configuration on our end. For Aware Capture, add a day for the hardware to arrive and one brief walkthrough call with our team.
Do we need to involve our IT department?
No. Aware is a fully hosted platform. There's nothing to install on your servers or networks. If you're on the Partner Program, we connect to your publicly available meeting videos. If you're using Aware Capture, the tablet connects via WiFi — your IT team doesn't need to be involved.
What if our meetings aren't already posted online?
That's exactly what Aware Capture is for. Our tablet and mic kit records audio at your meeting, auto-transcribes it, and generates summaries — all automatically. No video equipment, no streaming setup, no extra staff needed.
Are the summaries accurate and unbiased?
Yes. Our AI is trained to summarize only what was said and decided — no editorializing, no political framing, no spin. Every summary is sourced directly from the official meeting content.
What do residents see? Does it cost them anything?
When your town becomes an Aware partner, residents get completely free access to all summaries, the Explain feature, Ask Aware, and meeting alerts. There's no paywall and no subscription for residents in partner communities.
What does the engagement dashboard show?
You'll see how many residents are subscribed, which summaries got the most views, what questions residents are asking through Ask Aware, and how engagement changes over time. It's useful for your communications team and for demonstrating community reach to elected officials.
